Job description

Resident Services ASB Coordinator
North West London
Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm (Hybrid position)
Initial 3-6 month ongoing contract
£28.56 p/hr umbrella

Role Purpose

Responsible for the investigation & enforcement of anti-social behaviour across the borough in line with legislation, Council's Strategies, policies and procedures. To educate and work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public.

Responsibilities

  1. To determine compliance with ASB legislation, to determine the need for and to initiate enforcement action, including carrying out visits and determination of legislative requirements and the need for further action.
  2. Work in collaboration with HOs on ASB case management and give guidance on mid and low level ASB cases.
  3. Represent the Council at public inquiries, public meetings, external organisations and Council committee meetings, providing technical information and reports for service-related issues.
  4. Identify and carry out investigations and prepare appropriate solutions for professional problems, within the relevant discipline, including consultation, liaison and partnership working.
  5. Prepare, as necessary, reports and statements of evidence for legal proceedings resulting from contraventions of legislation, to meet and advise legal on cases to assist in the preparation of cases and securing legal action, and to attend court to give evidence on behalf of the council as required.
  6. Provide professional, expert and up to date technical and legislative advice to residents, businesses, Members and key stakeholders.
  7. Prepare committee reports, technical reports, proofs of evidence, briefing notes and correspondence for complex issues within the service area to which the post is designated with support from lead officers.
  8. To issue letters, notices, legal documents, formal cautions, fixed penalty notices, warnings and other documents as required by legislation.

Requirements
  1. Possession of a full current driving licence.
  2. Experience working in a housing association or council is REQUIRED.
  3. Proven work experience as an Anti-social behaviour officer or related discipline (e.g. Environmental Health, Police) including conducting enforcement.
  4. A working knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Welfare legislation and approved Codes of Practices.
