Roles: Resident Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical Disciplines.
Location; Port of Nigg, Scotland
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of the civil, mechanical or electrical infrastructure and structural elements of a Subsea Cable Factory Project in the Port of Nigg.
You will serve as the primary point of contact between contractors, project stakeholders, and engineering teams, ensuring that construction activities adhere to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Outline:
1. Construction Oversight: to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
2. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to verify the quality and integrity of construction work, identifying and addressing deviations or deficiencies as necessary.
3. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings, and communicate project status updates to stakeholders and management as required.
4. Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and guidance to construction teams, resolving engineering-related issues, interpreting design specifications, and facilitating the resolution of construction challenges.
5. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and community representatives, fostering positive relationships, and addressing concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.
6. Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, evaluating proposed modifications, assessing their impact on project objectives, and facilitating decision-making processes in collaboration with project stakeholders.
7.Team communication- Ensure a constant detailed line of communication with Design team.
