Roles: Resident Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical Disciplines.

Reporting to: Engineering Manager
As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of the civil, mechanical, or electrical infrastructure and structural elements of a Subsea Cable Factory Project in the Port of Nigg.
You will serve as the primary point of contact between contractors, project stakeholders, and engineering teams, ensuring that construction activities adhere to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Oversight: Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to verify the quality and integrity of construction work, addressing deviations or deficiencies as necessary.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings; communicate project status updates to stakeholders and management.
- Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and guidance to construction teams, resolve engineering-related issues, interpret design specifications, and facilitate the resolution of construction challenges.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and community representatives, fostering positive relationships and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget; evaluate proposed modifications, assess their impact, and facilitate decision-making in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Team Communication: Ensure constant, detailed communication with the design team.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; a Master’s Degree is advantageous.
- Recognition from accredited programs is preferred.
Professional Licensing and Certification:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is preferred.
- Safety Certifications, such as OSHA or NEBOSH, are desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-10 years in the relevant discipline, with experience in site supervision and project management.
- Field experience with large-scale infrastructure, manufacturing plants, or electrical distribution projects is essential.
- Strong background in quality assurance, inspection, and compliance with building codes.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of site management software and project management tools.
- Proficiency in relevant codes and standards (Eurocode, ASME, IEC, etc.).
- Structural analysis and design skills (civil), HVAC and plumbing expertise (mechanical), or power systems knowledge (electrical).
- Leadership, communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
