Employment Type: Full-time, fixed term 15-month contract with potential to become permanent

Salary: £28,810 per annum

Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Resident Liaison Apprentice to join our operational site team. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for a change of career or for someone keen to start their journey and secure a role in a friendly team.

PiLON will sponsor your apprenticeship and provide development pathways, while in return we expect you to support our customers and operational teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to start a career and gain hands-on experience while contributing to the smooth delivery of our social housing refurbishment projects.

Being a key part of the team, you will learn about social housing refurbishment projects, how to handle resident communication, resolve enquiries and support the Resident Liaison Officers in successfully coordinating ongoing projects.

Main Objectives of the Apprentice role:

  • Provide support to the Resident Liaison Officers and site teams with resident communication, while ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with residents via phone and email to provide works updates, handle enquiries and resolve issues in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Help schedule resident appointments and follow-ups, ensuring they are well-informed of upcoming works or visits.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communication and interactions with residents, ensuring data is entered correctly into internal systems.
  • Support the team in managing and resolving complaints, escalating any issues that require higher-level attention.
  • Assist in gathering resident feedback after works are completed and help the team analyse this data to improve services.
  • Ensure that all relevant project information is distributed to residents in a timely and clear manner.
  • Work closely with all team members and other departments to ensure residents receive seamless and consistent service throughout the duration of their refurbishment.
  • Support in preparing regular updates for residents including letters, newsletters or other communication materials.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Willingness to complete a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship and develop new skills.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with a strong interest in customer service and project administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide a pleasant, positive experience to a diverse range of residents.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and handle change of priorities.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Ability to work well within a team and collaborate across departments to achieve project goals.

Desirable Skills:

  • Any prior experience in customer service such as retail or hospitality, administration or community engagement is an advantage.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle constitute an advantage.
