Job Responsibilities
  1. Carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner, maintaining documentation of all works in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
  2. Work according to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises, with occasional off-site work.
  3. Monitor and count site stock, ensuring sufficient supplies for daily fleet maintenance.
  4. Inspect and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
  5. Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions, and parts paperwork within required timescales.
  6. Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling, including van, laptop, and printer, ensuring they are in safe condition for the work undertaken.
  7. Work to strict schedules and deadlines.
Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have knowledge in at least one of the following areas and be willing to undergo additional training:

  • Mechanical engineering
  • Electrical engineering

Additional qualities include the ability to work independently and in a team, good communication skills, high work standards, and adherence to timescales. The role requires product training and immediate assumption of Resident Engineer Service duties.

Person Specification
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proficient in fault finding and repair.
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Experience with Health & Safety requirements in a workshop environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Excellent organizational, resourcefulness, and solution-driven skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills – oral and written.
  • Strong consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to meet diverse needs of the role.
  • Resilience and motivation to work under pressure.
  • Positive, personable attitude with a can-do approach.
  • Experience in forklift truck service environment (preferred but not essential).
Additional Information

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.

Company Vehicle: Van and fuel card provided, with private use options (tax applicable). Current vehicle models include Ford Fiesta / Vauxhall Corsa.

Holidays: 25 days holiday.
