Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related discipline.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience in facilities management or industrial environments.
• Experience with pumps, motors, HVAC systems and plant equipment; electrical knowledge is a plus.
• Experience delivering maintenance in a client-facing environment.
• Familiarity with permit-to-work and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services assets.
• Fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical systems and associated equipment.
• Support HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors, pipework and associated mechanical plant.
• Undertake basic electrical fault-finding where suitably qualified.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and site emergencies.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with statutory compliance requirements.
• Accurately update maintenance records through CAFM systems.
• Liaise directly with the client, subcontractors and wider engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased asset reliability.
• Support health, safety and environmental best practice across the site.

We are seeking a Resident Engineer to join our facilities management team supporting our prestigious client, Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains, at their state-of-the-art facility in Brixworth.

The Role

As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising a wide range of mechanical and building services systems across a complex and demanding manufacturing facility. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong mechanical background, although multi-skilled engineers with electrical competencies will be highly regarded.

You will play a key role in ensuring plant, equipment and building systems operate safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime, while delivering an exceptional service experience to our client.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Maintenance Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience within facilities management, manufacturing, industrial or critical environments.
• Experience working on pumps, motors, HVAC systems, plant equipment and mechanical services.
• Multi-skilled capability with electrical knowledge would be highly advantageous.
• Experience delivering maintenance within a client-facing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive approach with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
