An exciting opportunity for a Resident Doctor in the Urology Department with West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This two-month position involves clinical activities, training in urological emergencies, and participation in a supportive on-call rota. This is a two month Resident Doctor post, from 30th July 25- 30th September 25.
The successful applicant will partake in the daily elective clinical activity of the Urology Department. They will be expected to attend Consultant-Supervised Theatre Lists and outpatient clinics - they can expect to be trained to manage Urological emergencies out of hours.
Main duties of the job
Furthermore, the post holder will partake in a 1-in-7 Registrar of the week rota (0800-1700), alongside the rest of the on call team which consist of a Consultant of the Week (who has all other elective activity cancelled), 2 Urology SHOs (covering Wards and Emergency Department), 1 FY1 and 1 Physician's Assistant.
The overnight/weekend on call comprises of a 1-in-7, 24/7 middle grade rota - compliant with EWTD and the 2018 Junior Doctor's Contract as stipulated by NHS Employers. The department is busy, but is friendly and welcoming and committed to training. This role is ideal for progression through to higher specialist urological training.
