Job summary

Abbeyfield is seeking a friendly Catering & Hospitality Assistant to provide an outstanding dining experience for residents at Halcyon House, Formby.

The role involves preparing breakfasts, meals and snacks, supporting modified diets, and maintaining kitchen hygiene while managing stock and costs. Previous catering experience and a Food Hygiene Certificate are preferred, with strong service and teamwork required.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering/hospitality environments.
• Food Hygiene Certificate and good understanding of food safety legislation.
• Knowledge of nutritional needs of older people and special dietary requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills for multitasking.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents.
• Support preparation of modified diets and bake fresh items.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Manage stock, place catering orders and work within budgets.
• Contribute to varied and balanced menus for resident enjoyment.
