Job summary

Care Dorset Limited is seeking an activities coordinator to support managers and care staff in delivering a range of activities for service users in a residential or day care setting.

You will run individual and group activity programmes, maintain records, provide essential personal care when needed, supervise volunteers, and contribute to care plans. The role involves risk assessments, training, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Good awareness of relevant legislation.
• Awareness of relevant legislation (duplicate but included as in ad).
• Basic knowledge of health and safety.
• Awareness of anti-discriminatory practice/attitudes.
• Some experience of working in a caring or community setting.
• Experience of planning and organising activities.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good organisation skills.
• Ability to contribute to group work.
• Ability to contribute to care plan development and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager and care staff in arranging and delivering activities across service user groups.
• Develop activities reflecting service user wishes and needs.
• Run and supervise individual and group activity programmes.
• Maintain service user records and contribute to establishment records.
• Provide personal care to service users as required.
• Undertake the direction of volunteers.
• Contribute to care plans to meet social and mental stimulation needs.
• Organise and arrange group and individual activity programmes; undertake risk assessments.
• Participate in staff meetings and undertake training.
• Undertake any other duties of a lesser or comparable nature.
