This includes Afghan resettlement and those seeking asylum, including unaccompanied young people. The role will involve working with the individuals themselves as well as with local voluntary and community groups and a number of council departments to map what is already provided and the need for additional activity and support.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and co-ordinate activities and support for people resettling in Herefordshire.
  • Work with individuals, local voluntary and community groups, and council departments to map existing provision and identify gaps or additional needs.
What we’re looking for
  • Relevant experience in community engagement and/or building partnerships with voluntary and community sector organisations.
  • Proven experience in delivering activities and support that focus on improving community integration and reducing social isolation.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with people from diverse backgrounds, ensuring their input shapes your work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of refugee resettlement and migration in the UK.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience.

Community Wellbeing is connecting and belonging to the place where you live, feeling safe and having pride in your community.

Additional information
  • We welcome applicants regardless of personal characteristics or social identity. All requests for flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments will be considered.
  • We interview candidates who meet the essential criteria for the post, including: individuals who indicate they have a disability (Disability Confident); individuals who indicate service in the Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve) or their families (Armed Forces Covenant); and those who indicate in their supporting statement that they are a Herefordshire care leaver (supporting young people leaving care).

  • Flexible working: flexi-time, job-share, part-time hours, and, in some instances, home working
