Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Petroleum Engineer to join its asset development and optimization team in East London, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on maximizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields, evaluating new development opportunities, and coupling reservoir analysis with production forecasting.

You'll work with geologists and drilling engineers in a hybrid setting, applying EOR strategies, reservoir simulation, and economic evaluations to shape field development plans while staying

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in reservoir engineering and production optimization.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation software and analytical tools.
• Experience with economic evaluation software and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Analyze reservoir performance data to identify production optimization opportunities.
• Develop and calibrate reservoir simulation models to forecast future production and evaluate development scenarios.
• Perform decline curve analysis, material balance calculations, and volumetric estimations.
• Evaluate and propose enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods and technologies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for field development plans.
• Collaborate with geologists, production engineers, and drilling engineers to integrate geological and operational data.
• Conduct economic evaluations of development projects and potential investments.
• Monitor production trends and identify root causes of underperformance.
• Assist in the planning and execution of well interventions and workovers.
• Stay current with advancements in petroleum engineering technologies and methodologies.
