Job summary

A leading actuarial consulting firm is seeking a Reserving Manager to lead the Personal Lines sub-team. You will oversee the quarterly reserving exercise and communicate insights to key stakeholders. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in P&C Actuarial, strong SQL skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities. This position offers a permanent contract with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary.
• 7+ years of experience in P&C Actuarial.
• Strong SQL and/or other coding skills.
• Familiarity with ResQ and PowerBI.
• Experience in IFRS17 is desirable.
• High level of numeracy skills.
• Excellent team-working, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of Group and regulatory requirements.
• Support Head of Retail Reserving with results reporting.
• Assist business functions such as Portfolio Management, Pricing, and Claims.
• Advise Finance and other functions on reserving and strategic decisions.

Job description

Our client is looking for Reserving Manager to head up the Personal Lines sub-team within the UK Retail Actuarial Reserving team. You will be responsible for the output of the quarterly reserving exercise, as well as communicating the results and related insights through to the Head of Retail Reserving, the UK Chief Actuary, and the Personal Lines business.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• With minimal supervision, help ensure the timely and accurate delivery of Group and regulatory requirements
• Providing support to the Head of Retail Reserving with reporting and communication of the results
• Providing support to the business functions, including Portfolio Management, Pricing and Claims
• Supporting and advising Finance, Portfolio Management, and other functions on reserving and strategic business decisions
• Qualified actuary
• 7+ year experience in P&C Actuarial
• SQL and/or other coding experience would be desirable, as well as familiarity with ResQ and PowerBI
• Experience in IFRS17 is desirable
• A high level of numeracy skills and an analytical approach to work is essential
• Excellent team-working, communication and interpersonal skills are also required
