Job summary

Emerald Group is seeking a qualified actuary to support the reserving function, embedding robust actuarial processes and models. You will collaborate to manage the quarterly reserving cycle, ingest data, parameterise models, review diagnostics, and propose best-estimate reserve levels.

The role also involves maintaining reserving models and implementing process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel and SQL capabilities, excellent communication skills, and prior reserving

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified actuary with knowledge of reserving techniques.
• Lloyd's Market experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex issues to non-actuarial colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Help the Head of Reserving with establishing and embedding an actuarial reserving process.
• Work end-to-end through the quarterly reserving process including data ingestion, model parametrisation across classes, diagnostics and proposing reserve levels.
• Maintain reserving models and drive ongoing process improvements.
