Lead Reserving Actuary – First-Line, London

Job summary

The Emerald Group in London seeks a seasoned actuary to perform a broad range of reserving work within the Reserving and Reporting function, with a focus on first line reserving. You will lead on reserving processes, present reviews to senior management, and liaise with global teams under GSI4.

Applicants should have an actuarial qualification (FIA or equivalent) or be qualified by experience, a degree in a quantitative field, and a strong Excel/database toolkit.

Qualifications

• University Degree in a quantitative field (Maths/Actuarial Science/Statistics).
• FIA or equivalent qualification or qualified by experience.
• At least five years of relevant actuarial experience.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of reserving processes and systems for first line reserving across legal entities.
• Lead quarterly reserving processes; reconcile data, analyse results and present to senior management.
• Present first line reserving reviews to senior management and liaise with underwriters and central reserving; collaborate with global teams under GSI4.
