A regional law enforcement agency is seeking a passionate researcher to join the Tackling Organised Exploitation Programme (TOEX) at its headquarters in Wymondham. The role involves collecting and analyzing information from various sources to support policing activities. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This is a fixed-term contract until March 2026, with the possibility of extension.
The Tackling Organised Exploitation Programme (TOEX) is an exciting national programme developing intelligence in relation to organised criminals that exploit the vulnerable. TOEX is funded by the Home Office and has eleven teams around the country based in the Regional Organised Crime Units, with "TOEX HQ" based out of Norfolk Constabulary's headquarters. We are looking for an additional researcher to join our friendly and busy team here at TOEX HQ.
The main aim of this role is to aid analysis by collecting qualitative and quantitative information from a variety of open and closed sources, and creating products to direct policing activity. This is a varied and interesting role and we are looking for someone passionate about tackling those involved in organised exploitation, someone open minded and keen to explore new ideas and approaches and someone who is articulate with an eye for detail. It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:-
1. Experience of collating, assessing and evaluating information from a range of sources and systems and
compiling into research-based reports
2. Experience of researching qualitative and quantitative information
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate and timely reports,
being articulate and able to debate issues
4. Proven problem-solving skills
5. Demonstrate an understanding of intelligence reporting requirements, for example, by understanding
and applying business rules and standard operating processes to intelligence extraction, collation and
interpretation
6. Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure
7. Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:-
1. Previous experience of, or trained in the use of Microsoft Excel or analytical and data mining tools such
as i2, Microsoft Reporting or equivalent
2. Demonstrate an understanding of key legislation including the Data Protection Act 2018
This is a fixed term contract until 31.03.26, with the possibility of extension, subject to further funding.
