Job Description

Our in-house Executive Hiring team plays a vital role in shaping the future of L&G by identifying and attracting exceptional leadership talent across our diverse business portfolio. As a Researcher, you will be instrumental in supporting this mission by delivering high-quality talent mapping, market intelligence, and candidate engagement.

You’ll work closely with Executive Search Partners and senior stakeholders to build robust pipelines of senior-level talent, with a particular focus on diversity and strategic hiring needs. Your work will help inform hiring decisions through comprehensive research, real-time market insights, and a deep understanding of the financial services landscape - especially within asset management.

This role is not a people management position, but it requires someone who is a natural leader in the space - someone who can influence, collaborate, and bring credibility through expertise and insight. Our ambition is to provide an exceptional experience to both candidates and hiring managers, offering a live view of the talent market and the intelligence needed to support L&G's continued growth.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Work collaboratively with the Executive Search Partners to understand their research needs and to implement research processes and procedures.
  2. Contribute towards the delivery of key recruitment projects within the Strategic Resourcing team, by working closely with the recruitment Project Lead to enhance processes.
  3. Identify diverse candidates using a plethora of tools, for future and active leadership appointments.
  4. Contribute towards organising and running bespoke internal and external events, which showcase our diverse mix of leaders, and help us pipeline for the future.
  5. Review applications and conduct pre-screening interview calls with prospective candidates, to provide the Executive Search Partners with the strongest candidates to recommend to Executive hiring managers.
  6. Track and analyse talent trends, competitor movements, and market insights to inform hiring strategies.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
  1. Strong understanding of the financial services industry, with knowledge of key market players, regulatory landscape, and leadership structures. Familiarity with asset management—including investment strategies and fund structures, is highly beneficial.
  2. Proven experience in Executive search or talent research —either in-house or agency.
  3. A passion for providing incredible service to candidates and hiring managers.
  4. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex information.
  6. Familiarity with Executive search tools and ATS platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter).
  7. Whilst this role does not have direct leadership responsibilities, you'll be a natural leader in the Executive hiring space - able to influence, collaborate, and build credibility with senior stakeholders without direct line management responsibilities.
