Job summary

The University of Warwick seeks an enthusiastic research technician with molecular biology skills to join a small team studying centromere biology. You will support two projects: a Wellcome-funded investigation of how genetic and epigenetic variation influences centromere function in Arabidopsis thaliana, and a UKRI-funded project exploring alternative centromere structures in marine plankton.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloning and various molecular biology workflows.
• Experience with sequencing workflows, including Nanopore sequencing.
• Ability to maintain plant and plankton cultures and perform routine sample processing.

Responsibilities

• Support two centromere biology projects in Arabidopsis and marine plankton.
• Collaborate with postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.
• Perform cloning, PCR, sequencing, and routine genotyping; assist with sample collection and preparation.
