Job summary

City St George’s, University of London, invites applications for a Research Software Engineer to join the Engineering Department in London, working on the National Tunnelling Data Hub with HS2. You will help deliver a modern, web-based Data Repository for sensor and monitoring data.

You will design back-end services, APIs and front-end applications using Python and/or JavaScript, FastAPI, SQL and time-series databases, with Docker and GitHub.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building web-based data repositories.
• Proficiency in Python/JavaScript and APIs.
• Ability to work with fast data and time-series databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and document a web-based Data Repository with back-end services and APIs.
• Collaborate with HS2 stakeholders to translate data needs into technical solutions.
• Ensure reliability, security and thorough documentation while meeting milestones.
