Job summary

Bath Institute for the Augmented Human (IAH) is seeking a Research Software Engineer to work with world-leading researchers and develop software underpinning cutting-edge research in neurotechnology, AI, robotics, digital health, wearables and immersive environments.

You will be embedded within the Institute while collaborating with the wider Research Software Engineering community to deliver high-quality, sustainable research software.

Qualifications

• A degree in computer science, software engineering or a computational discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining software using modern practices (version control, testing, docs, CI).
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, C#, or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge research software to support neurotechnology, AI, robotics, VR/AR, wearables and digital health.
• Embed within a multidisciplinary research institute and collaborate with academics, clinicians and industry partners.
• Design, develop and optimise software, contributing to publications and translational projects, meeting regulatory standards where relevant.
• Collaborate with the RSE community to deliver high-quality, sustainable research software.
