Job summary

Bath Institute for the Augmented Human (IAH) seeks a Research Software Engineer to help shape the future of human augmentation technologies. You will develop software supporting neurotechnology, AI, robotics, VR/AR, wearables and digital health, embedded within a multidisciplinary institute.

You will work with researchers to translate ideas into robust software, align with clinical and regulatory standards where appropriate, and contribute to publications and translational projects.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science or software engineering or related computational discipline.
Experience designing, developing and maintaining software using modern practices (version control, testing, documentation).
Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, C#, MATLAB and adapting existing codebases.

Responsibilities

Develop cutting-edge research software for neurotechnology, AI, robotics, VR/AR, wearables and digital health.
Embed within a multidisciplinary research institute and collaborate with academics, clinicians and industry.
Design, develop and optimise software with modern engineering practices and ensure regulatory alignment where relevant.
Collaborate with the Research Software Engineering community for knowledge exchange and professional development.
