We invite applications for a Research Software Engineer to join the (OPIG). This exciting position is unique within the University and will provide an unrivalled and privileged opportunity to interact directly between a highly productive academic group and many pharmaceutical companies.

The project is pioneering an academic business model for how to achieve simultaneously the ideal of fully open software while sustaining a long-term funding stream. The position is offered on a permanent basis and is full-time.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Applicants will have completed a relevant PhD/DPhil with post-qualification research experience.
  2. Relevant areas of research include computational chemistry, structural biology/bioinformatics, statistics, machine learning, computer science or mathematics.
  3. Strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in computational chemistry or structural biology/bioinformatics.
  4. Experience with coding in a wide variety of languages and platforms, particularly Python.
  5. Prior experience of collaboratively developing software tools in the areas of computational chemistry, structural biology/bioinformatics, statistics or machine learning.
