Job summary

Google DeepMind seeks researchers to develop novel algorithms and models for embodied AI and Artificial General Intelligence, building the next generation of AI agents grounded in the real world. You will work with large foundation models like Gemini Robotics, design prototype applications, and test on real robots inside and outside the lab to address practical use cases.

Qualifications

• PhD degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in reinforcement learning or related techniques for mid-/post-training of foundation models and self-improvement in robotics.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and evaluate scalable algorithms for robotic agents, focusing on post-training, self-improvement, and mastery.
• Contribute to robotics foundation models and physical agents research themes (e.g., VLAs, WAMs, imitation learning, simulation-based learning).
• Develop scalable research pipelines and robust software to test hypotheses quickly and enable fast-paced research.
• Collaborate within a fast-paced team to achieve ambitious research goals.
• Generate ideas, set up experiments, test hypotheses, and communicate findings clearly both internally and externally.
