Job Title: Research Scientist Team Lead

Location: Great Baddow, Hybrid (2/3 days onsite)

Grade: GG11

We are seeking a team lead for our Knowledge and Semantics team, working on diverse topics like reinforcement learning, NLP, knowledge graphs, LLMs, computer vision, and more.

You will lead research teams, develop prototypes, and collaborate with academic and SME partners. The role requires experience in NLP, LLM applications, knowledge graphs, and machine learning, with strong programming skills in Python.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead research and propose innovative solutions in collaboration with universities
  • Manage project delivery and prepare technical reports
  • Develop prototypes and proof of concepts
  • Present results to technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements:
  • PhD with at least 4 years post-PhD experience
  • Experience leading R&D teams of 5+ developers
  • Proven funding acquisition and project delivery skills
  • Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch

Preferred experience includes predictive graph ML, causal ML, neuro-symbolic AI, NLP, LLMs, graph databases, and knowledge representation.

Desirable skills:
  • Experience with graph ML packages and knowledge graph tools
  • Familiarity with query languages like SQL or Cypher
  • Knowledge of ontology design and semantic reasoning
