An established industry player is seeking a Research Scientist to enhance biodiversity monitoring through innovative molecular assays. This role involves developing and validating cutting-edge techniques in eDNA analysis, collaborating closely with R&D and product teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of assays. The successful candidate will contribute to impactful projects that shape sustainability decisions across various sectors. Join a passionate team dedicated to making a difference in biodiversity and environmental conservation, where your expertise will drive meaningful change and innovation.
NatureMetrics is a global leader in biodiversity MRV and environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis, transforming the scale at which nature can be quantified. Our cutting-edge solutions enable organisations to monitor nature impact across sectors, from conservation to industry, and inform sustainability decisions with unprecedented accuracy. With a strong market leading position, NatureMetrics has established a robust client base and developed a proprietary software platform that makes biodiversity insights accessible, actionable, and scalable. As Earthshot Prize Finalists 2024, BloombergNEF Pioneers 2024, and World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers 2024, we have the potential and the opportunity to change the way organizations operate.
As we enter a new phase of rapid global growth, we are seeking a Research Scientist to play a key role in the development, validation, and expansion of molecular assays for biodiversity monitoring using environmental DNA (eDNA), metabarcoding, and quantitative PCR (qPCR). The successful candidate will lead efforts to refine and validate existing assays from the scientific literature, fill taxonomic gaps in eDNA monitoring, and ensure our assay portfolio remains relevant as we expand into new locations. Additionally, they will be responsible for horizon scanning emerging molecular technologies, such as CRISPR-based detection and digital qPCR, to enhance our product offerings. The role involves close collaboration with R&D, Delivery Development, Product, and Data teams to ensure assay reliability, reproducibility, and scalability.
