- The Syensqo Composite R&I group is seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join its Wrexham R&I team. Working within Syensqo Research & Innovation (R&I) GBU, the position offers the opportunity to lead Syensqo into new growth territories with breakthrough innovation to develop next-generation materials and process technology. The scientist will collaborate with product development teams for the Defense, Aerospace, and Automotive industries to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. What you will bring:
- PhD in Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Organic/Polymer, or Materials Sciences
- Experience in Composite Materials
- Practical experience with customer-facing or manufacturing projects is an advantage
- Experience working in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
- Authorization to work in the United Kingdom
- Technical expertise in thermoset composites, organic/polymer chemistry, materials science, or nanotechnology
- Proven record in experimental design and execution
- Familiarity with wet-lab chemistry and formulation practices
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols in laboratory settings
- Experience in transitioning products/processes from R&D to production and Six Sigma training
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with digital tools for global data sharing
- Strong technical report writing, data collection, analysis skills, and attention to detail
