Location: United Kingdom (Greater London – Chelmsford) Type: Permanent

Senior Research Scientist – Data Science & Machine Learning

Location: Chelmsford (Hybrid: 2 days onsite/week + occasional SE travel)

Role Overview:

This is a senior technical position within the Advanced Information Processing team, focused on applying AI and machine learning to time-series and sequential decision-making problems. The role involves leading high-value research initiatives for defence, security, and commercial customers. You will work across multiple domains including radar, RF, acoustic signal processing, autonomy, and sensor fusion.

Key Requirements:

• PhD or equivalent experience in AI/ML or statistical signal processing
• Strong Python programming and use of ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Demonstrated experience with sequential data and real-time decision systems
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues and produce publishable R&D outcomes
• 10% annual bonus
