We are seeking to appoint a Research Quality Officer as part of the Research Governance Team. The Team is based within the Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation, and supports staff and students on how to set up and conduct research projects involving human participants, their tissue, and/or data. Working with colleagues in the Team, as well as collaborating NHS organisations and regulatory bodies, you will become a subject matter expert on our processes.

The role

We are seeking to appoint a Research Quality Officer as part of the Research Governance Team. What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for coordinating the development and maintenance of the Team’s processes and procedures to support the team's work. This involves preparing clear, concise, and accessible documents, recommending updates, and communicating these to relevant audiences. You will also maintain ongoing review of national requirements, primarily related to health and social care research, and develop relationships with external partners.

You should apply if
  • You have experience supporting health and/or social-care research in healthcare, social-care, academic, or commercial settings.
  • You are educated to at least degree standard OR have significant practical, administrative experience.
  • You have a proven ability to learn quickly, map processes accurately, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills.
  • You have a genuine interest in research and supporting a busy team to develop, optimize, and streamline processes to facilitate high-quality human participant research.
