This post offers an excellent opportunity to join and expand the Surgical Research team as a Research Portfolio Manager (RPM).

Research nursing is an exciting, developing role supported by the R&I division, which provides a comprehensive education and development package to help staff reach their potential.

We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our surgical research team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and developing the team. Responsibilities include direct line management of clinical trials coordinators, data management, administrative functions, and delivering tools and processes to support effective research portfolio management.

An informal discussion about the role is strongly recommended, with an opportunity to spend time with the team to better understand the requirements.

The post holder will be involved in the entire clinical trial pathway, including facilitating research feasibility assessments, ensuring efficient setup, initiation, and delivery of surgical research studies. Standardisation and optimisation of quality, financial, and data systems are also key aspects of this role.

Applicants should demonstrate awareness of and contribution to divisional, Trust, and national objectives and strategies.

Candidates should hold a scientific or business degree, or possess relevant experience in scientific and medical research. Previous management and leadership experience in clinical research is essential. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clinical trials administration, coordination, data management, and a solid understanding of GCP, clinical governance, and relevant legislation.
