Salary : £40,000 – £45,000 per year depending on experience

Spotless is looking for a Research Operations Manager to join the team. Reporting to the Head of Design Research, you will work closely with the Delivery and Project Management team to own the Operations and the participant recruitment process for design research and service design projects.

You will establish the research operations capability and support the team in the planning, organisation and execution of the projects. You will improve our systems and processes and own and manage the database of resources.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and build a Research Operations capability within the agency to drive overall agency efficiency
  • Line Management of the Resource and Project Management team and Lab Manager
  • Manage the end to end process of sourcing, screening and recruiting participants, ensuring compliance with key regulations and legislation such as GDPR and ISO27001
  • Manage the ongoing implementation of our project and resource management system
  • Engage as a member of the Senior Management Team to deliver company objectives, provide input and feedback big picture challenges, valuable reports and data on operational metrics.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager and Delivery team to oversee project budgets, profitability and other financial OKRs.
  • Support The Insight Rooms research labs in various ad-hoc lab hire and administrative tasks.

Research Operations includes the following areas of ownership:

  • Organise and manage the organisation of research facilities, various software tools including; Lookback, Optimal Sort, Miro, Figma, Survey Monkey etc.
  • Manage templates and documentation used by all team members to ensure consistency.
  • Establish, improve and enhance our processes to uphold the highest standards of privacy and compliance with relevant legal guidance, ensuring best practice and methods are identified and documented.
  • Own, maintain and improve documentation of core research operations systems and processes, creating new material where needed.
  • Manage the end to end process of sourcing, screening and recruiting participants for our projects, ensuring a high quality pool of diverse candidates are delivered.
  • Create recruitment briefing documents based on project requirements to share with external recruitment partners.
  • Work closely with the Project Management team to ensure recruitment projects are kicked off inline with various project plans, and deadlines are cohesive.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant information, consent forms, recruitment activities, incentives and expenses, ensuring all data is stored inline with GDPR and implementing robust data security principles.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external organisations to expand our pool of participants.
