Job summary

King's College London is seeking a Senior Research Operations Officer to support the Department of Engineering's NMES with pre- and post-award grant processes, funding opportunities, and research administration. The role collaborates with Research Development Managers and professional services to ensure timely submissions and compliance.

The post also supports budgets, staff recruitment, and reporting, while handling research systems and Open Access compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven Professional Services skills within Higher Education or similar.
• Strong numeracy with budget management and cost control experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
• Proactive and adheres to processes and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with academic and professional staff.
• Capable of balancing competing priorities under deadlines.
• Ability to use initiative with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide research administration and support across the Department, focusing on funding applications and awards management.
• Support Department-wide research environment including Open Access and reporting.
• Assist with research management systems (WorkTribe, PURE, funder portals).
• Help organise research events, seminars and colloquia and maintain departmental info online.
• Contribute to planning, strategy, and guidance development within the Department.
