A healthcare organization in Leeds is seeking a proactive Band 6 Nurse to join the Children's Research Team. The role involves supporting clinical research across various specialties, ensuring high standards in patient care and data collection. Weare looking to recruit 1 proactive and self-motivated, Band 6 Nurse to workin the Childrens Research Team, under the remit of (R&I). The post will be 1.0 WTE permanent Position. The Research Nursewill actively contribute across the children's research portfolio, which mayoversee aspects of Oncology, Neuromuscular and some of the generalspecialities such as Diabetes, Respiratory, Allergy etc. The Research Nursewill work under the leadership of the Senior Research Nurse/Midwife/AHPworking effectively with the immediate and broader multidisciplinary team(MDT),being responsible for ensuring that high standards of clinical careplanning, delivery, safety and patient satisfaction is to a very highstandard, compliant with trust policy, study protocol requirements local andnational guidance and legislation. The research nurse post will cover boththe inpatient and outpatient settings with the caseload varying in size andcomplexity according to the trial portfolio. The post holder will be requiredto work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for HealthResearch (NIHR) Research Delivery Network (RDN) Yorkshire and Humber, andcolleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and nationalmeetings as required. The post holder will actively contribute to the meetingthe needs of the Children's Research Service, and support effective teamworking, and support a drive to developing and maintaining their owndevelopment needs.
Thepost holder will support the Senior Research Nurse/Midwife/AHP, PrincipalInvestigators and associated multidisciplinary colleagues in the planning,scheduling, conduct, recruitment, patient care, support and data collectionrequired for all studies within the department. They will be responsible fordeveloping their own clinical practice, maintaining competencies, related tothe research portfolio and where appropriate taking delegated responsibilityfor the clinical elements of studies in line with Trust policies and studyprotocols. Working effectively and proactively with agreed external agenciesand collaborative partners. The individual will adhere to agreed studypathways and processes to derive accurate and robust data capture, and ensurepharmacovigilance is maintained. The post holder will be involved in ensuringthat research is undertaken within the department safeguards for thewellbeing of patients and is conducted within the confines of ICH GoodClinical Practice Guidelines for Research, EU directive, UK GovernanceFramework and other relevant UK legislation pertaining to the conduct anddelivery of research. The post holder will act as role model developing andmeeting needs of the research team, ensuring effective management of thedepartment in the absence of the Senior Research Nurse/Midwife/AHP. Duringexceptional times of need you will contribute to clinical service, as agreedwith the Matron for the CSU.

appropriatetaking delegated responsibility for the clinical elements of studies in line
withTrust policies and study protocols.

deriveaccurate and robust data capture, and ensure pharmacovigilance is
maintained.
