Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Nurse to join our team at our FluCamp site in London, E1. As a Research Nurse, you will support the Clinical Trial Centre with the day-to-day planning and execution of clinical study screening.

hVIVO conducts human challenge studies offering services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, using various clinical trial methodologies across different viral challenges. Our goal is to eradicate or make treatment of illnesses like the cold and flu easier and more effective. Volunteers are central to our work, and our studies focus on testing new treatments on real people in a safe, controlled environment.

The Research Nurse plays a key role in providing nursing support for optimal study delivery from start-up to close-out, either as an individual contributor or as a line manager to support roles.

We currently require Bank staff with good availability Monday-Sunday to work at least 2 shifts per week. Shift options include:

  • 0730 – 1530 (AM shift)
  • 1230 – 2030 (PM shift)
  • 0800 – 1600; 0900 – 1700; 1000 – 1800 (screening day shifts)
  • 1930 – 0830 (Night shift)

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote safety and wellbeing of subjects within regulatory frameworks
  • Assist with daily management and workload allocation
  • Participate in planning and executing clinical activities
  • Guide and mentor staff, ensuring competence
  • Supervise new staff as needed
  • Adhere to SOPs, protocols, and safety regulations
  • Support clinical assessments and procedures as per protocol
  • Complete study documentation accurately
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure safety
  • Maintain equipment and medicines management
  • Supervise clinical staff in screening
  • Identify areas for improvement and promote high standards

Skills & Experiences

  • Knowledge of GCP and clinical trials experience
  • Nursing qualification and NMC registration
  • Immunisation and Vaccination certification
  • Basic/intermediate life support certification
  • Clinical knowledge including vital signs, ECG, phlebotomy
  • Good communication, organizational, and IT skills
  • Attention to detail and knowledge of regulatory standards
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
