Location: Liverpool

Overview: Join our dynamic research team at the Liverpool Vaccine Group (LVG) in our state-of-the-art 12-bedded Human Challenge Facility (HCF). This facility focuses on experimental medicine research to test vaccine and drug safety and efficacy, playing a pivotal role in developing new treatments and vaccines.

The Role:

As a Research Nurse, you will provide essential clinical care in the HCF, delivering care according to the study protocol while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care and GCP compliance. Responsibilities include:

  1. Acting as senior nurse on shift, providing supervision to junior team members
  2. Providing clinical care to study participants
  3. Collecting samples and completing data entry via electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs)
  4. Ensuring smooth, efficient clinical study operations in line with GCP guidelines
  5. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research and the development of life-saving vaccines and treatments.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Immediate Life Support (ILS) trained
  • Experience in clinical research or trials (essential)
  • Knowledge of GCP
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for improving global health through research

Availability to work out of hours, including night shifts, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

Work location: Human Challenge Facility, Liverpool Life Science Accelerator Building, part of the Knowledge Quarter. The 12-bed inpatient facility advances vaccine testing to protect against infectious pathogens.

This is a contingent contract, with hours including social hours, evenings, and weekends.
