Applications are invited for a staff nurse with a special interest in Research & Development (R&D), based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the access and medicine research team supporting our developing community research portfolio. As a team member you will be working on cutting edge research protocols aiming to delivery research opportunities to patients and forging forward medical treatments, procedures and technologies. In addition, there is recognition that to successfully recruit and retain nursing staff to research a flexible and varied approach to job planning is preferred. The role of the research nurse at The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RSCH) will be to support the set up and delivery of research. The role will involve screening patients and monitoring patients during studies, assisting with clinical investigations and the collection and documentation of accurate data. The research FFnurse will work collaboratively with all teams to provide excellent care for patients undergoing cancer treatments.

The role involves using an in depth knowledge of research methodology and knowledge of the requirements of local, national and international research regulations.
• To assist the team leader in leading the team in the provision of high quality, research based, care that is patient focused.
• To support the team leader in the management and facilitation of the development of staff creating an effective team
