Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Research Nurse to provide clinical trial support for the Research and Innovation team at Haywood Hospital, supporting rheumatology, physical and mental health research across Trust sites.

You will recruit and educate participants, collect data and samples, and travel across our geography to drive the mobile research unit. The role offers development within a supportive team and access to STARS training and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with UK registration.
• NIHR Good Clinical Practice certification.
• Experience delivering clinical research.
• Willingness to travel across Trust locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with clinical teams to promote research and engagement.
• Recruit, educate and monitor trial participants and collect data and samples.
• Travel across the Trust geography and drive the mobile research unit with a manual driving licence.
• Deliver complex research projects on agreed timescales with governance checks.
• Maintain communication between Trust services, primary care and community groups.

You will provide clinical trial support to the Research and Innovation team at Haywood Hospital, Stoke on Trent, supporting research in rheumatology, physical and mental health and the work of our mobile research unit. The role involves regular cross site working including Cheadle Hospital, Stoke on Trent and other community locations within our Trust and region.

Main duties of the job

You will develop relationships with clinical teams and servicesto promote and deliver research and sustain research engagement.

You will be responsible for the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants as well as the collection and documentation of accurate data, including collection and management of samples.

You must be able to travel across the Trust geography and be willing to drive our mobile research unit, which requires a standard driving licence for manual vehicles.

Job responsibilities

You will work autonomously with responsibility for your own portfolio of clinical research studies, with the support of senior staff.

You willbe responsible for the recruitment of participants onto clinical trials via different routes in hospital and community settings.

You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of complex research projects, in line with agreed timescales and plans; working with the R&I Research Governance team to ensure that all appropriate approvals have been gained prior to research studies commencing.

You will maintain effective communication between Trust clinical services, primary care and community organisations to ensure safe service delivery.

You will evaluate research protocols, patient information and GP letters and ensure that information about clinical trials is clearly and appropriately communicated to research participants.

You will manage the research related aspect of care for participants of several research studies, which may cover different health specialties.
