Celerion is increasing our team of Research Nurses and invite applications to join the clinical conduct team at our Phase I clinical trial facility in Belfast, N. Ireland.

We are looking for a registered nurse who would like to learn new skills in a clinical research setting working on both patient and healthy adult clinical trials within a multi-disciplinary team. Full-time (37.5hr/week) positions are available.

The responsibilities include administering medication (including IV) or new drug delivery devices to study participants, collecting safety data such as vital signs, ECGs, cardiac monitoring, phlebotomy and safety monitoring of adverse events. Additional skills in respiratory medicine, particularly CF, COPD and asthma, would be desirable but training will be provided on all equipment used.

Full training on clinical research nursing skills and Good Clinical Practice will be provided. Celerion will also provide training on phlebotomy, IV cannulation, IV dosing, ECGs and use of respiratory equipment where necessary. ILS training is provided annually and paid for by Celerion. NMC registration renewal fees are also eligible for reimbursement.

Education and Skill Requirements

  • All candidates must be able to work legally in the UK without requiring sponsorship and have current NMC registration.
  • Candidates must be currently registered on Part 1 or 12 of the NMC register and clinical practice experience desirable but newly qualified nurses (with NMC PIN) are also encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
  • Current ILS accreditation preferred but Celerion will provide certified ILS training.
  • The ability to work a flexible shift pattern is essential with the option to work the hours in 3 or 4 days per week in a rotational shift pattern. These day and night shifts operate both during the week and at weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required. This role is very team orientated with a high professional attitude expected.
