Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Research Midwife (NHS AfC Band 6) to coordinate recruitment, care and monitoring of participants in commercial and NIHR portfolio studies. The role requires postgraduate research experience, GCP training, and the ability to work across multiple clinical areas within Midwifery.

Qualifications

• Post graduate qualification in research/clinical practice/management.
• GCP Training within the last 18 months.
• Experience of facilitating clinical research studies in an acute setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment, care and monitoring of research subjects per protocol and ICH-GCP.
• Prepare documentation for ethics committees and regulatory bodies.
• Develop data collection systems and databases for study progression.
• Maintain source documentation and trial master file for investigators.
• Liaise with Chief Investigator and attend presentations as required.
• Plan and implement study protocols in line with research parameters.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care within trials.
• Demonstrate flexible shift patterns and travel as needed.
