A great opportunity has arisen, and we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Matron to lead our award-winning Research Delivery Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The role involves supporting the delivery of NIHR-adopted research studies across various clinical areas and disease sites.
Key responsibilities include leading the operational setup of new studies, overseeing hospital-wide participant recruitment, maintaining follow-up visits, data entry onto trial databases, raising research profile within the trust, and ensuring accurate documentation of trial participants.
The role also involves overseeing patient and colleague education, coordinating care for trial participants, collecting biological samples, monitoring drug and treatment side effects, and developing specialized skills in clinical trials, therapies, and disease sites. The post requires providing advice and information to enable informed patient decisions and acting as a patient advocate.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust serves approximately 441,000 people across districts including Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, North Amber Valley, High Peak, and North East Derbyshire. We support a diverse workforce with various staff networks, a staff Wellbeing Hub, mental health support, and flexible working arrangements.
The Research Matron will manage the clinical research portfolio, including national and international trials, and provide leadership and line management support to the Research Delivery Team.
Ideal candidates will have experience in clinical research, knowledge of good clinical practice, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and leadership qualities.
