Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester invites applications for a Research Intern within the Christie Patient Centred Research (CPCR) unit. You will support data collection, data analysis and the preparation of reports and publications across several projects focused on patient experience and quality of life.

The internship is part of the NIHR Undergraduate Internship Programme, aimed at students from health and social care disciplines.

Qualifications

Currently studying for an undergraduate degree in a science or health related discipline and be in the second or penultimate year of study during the internship.
Flexible with ability to adapt to service requirements.
Hardworking; ability to manage a busy workload.
Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Act as a point of contact for the Research and Development core team and study sponsors, communicating data queries and monitoring visits.
Assist with setup of trials within CPCR, under supervision.
Maintain investigator site files and essential documentation to ensure inspection readiness.
Assist with trial documentation processing and timelines under supervision.
Provide administrative support for safety reporting and team governance.
Complete team reporting mechanisms and assist with write up of research findings.
Communicate complex information clearly in writing and orally.
Arrange meetings, take minutes and ensure data is up to date for study meetings.
