About The Role

Springer Nature is dedicated to sharing high-quality, robust research. Our Research Integrity Group (RIG) supports all our publications by preventing and addressing research integrity concerns, producing training, and contributing to policy development. As a Research Integrity Adviser, you will investigate cases related to research integrity and publication ethics across our portfolio, working closely with editors, authors, legal teams, and internal colleagues to maintain the integrity of our published record. You will handle sensitive cases, advise on corrections, and ensure compliance with policies and industry guidelines.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Rapidly triage and evaluate research integrity and publication ethics cases, assessing legal and reputational risks.
  2. Provide advice and action plans for case resolution to staff and editors.
  3. Communicate complex ethics concepts clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.
  4. Stay updated on publication ethics landscape and contribute to policy improvements.
  5. Ensure work complies with Springer Nature policies, COPE guidelines, and best practices.
  6. Manage workload effectively, re-prioritizing as needed.
  7. Project manage cases, driving them to resolution following SOPs and KPIs.
  8. Maintain organized case files, project plans, and reports.
  9. Represent SNRIG internally and externally, including writing blogs and attending events.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
  1. Graduate level education in STEM or HSS.
  2. Experience with academic publishing processes, systems, and tools.
  3. Familiarity with publication ethics and research integrity issues.
  4. Effective relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
  5. High computer literacy, including Office and Google Workspace.
  6. Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  7. Proactive problem-solving approach.
  8. Excellent communication skills in English.
  9. Ability to work under pressure.
