Join the Research Funding team in Research and Impact Services (RIS). We're looking for someone to be part of our team, in this fixed-term part-time role.
Research and Impact Services is responsible for advancing the University's international reputation for research and knowledge transfer by:
Our department is the primary conduit for government, business, charity, and other funders to access the research expertise and knowledge of the University of Bath.
Over the next two years, the University will implement a new grant application and award costing system (Worktribe), managed through the University Research Management System (URMS) project. RIS is looking for a hardworking individual with excellent interpersonal skills to support the Research Funding team during this period.
You will work closely with the Pre-Award Development Officers, Pre-Award Support Officer, Pre-Award Manager, and Head of Research Funding to support the effort to ensure that the outputs of the URMS project are realized within the agreed timescales. This will also involve planning and participation in user acceptance testing for the new system.
You will develop comprehensive knowledge of the University’s costing system and be able to confidently advise, support, and guide colleagues across the University.
This role requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with a good understanding of the research funding landscape for the higher education sector, and some familiarity with costing systems used to support funding applications. You will be educated to degree level or hold significant, relevant professional experience.
The post is offered on a part-time basis (21.9 hours per week) for 12 months, starting in August 2025. Applications for secondment from existing staff are welcome.
Our team works both remotely and on campus, following a hybrid model. It is strongly preferred that you are available to work on campus on Wednesdays for team meetings.
