Zusammenfassung

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic team member to work with Professor Kat Holt, to develop standardized protocols and reporting templates for sequence-based detection of pathogens in the hospital environment.

They will undertake a review of current protocols and practices, and undertake consultations and workshops with experts and potential users to develop consensus protocols suitable for use in low-resource settings.

Qualifikationen

  • Degree in Microbiology or related discipline.
  • Experience applying sequencing-based approaches to detect bacterial pathogens in hospital environments.
  • Experience developing and optimizing laboratory protocols for metagenomics.
  • Experience in bioinformatics analysis of metagenomics data; publication or data submission experience.

Aufgaben

  • Develop standardized protocols for sequence-based pathogen detection in hospitals.
  • Lead consultations and workshops to build consensus protocols for low-resource settings.
  • Develop standardized metadata templates in partnership with PHA4GE.
  • Lead on reporting templates and liaise with clinical microbiology and infection prevention teams.
