The University of Manchester invites applications for a research fellowship exploring how people and AI can work together in a collaborative partnership. Fellows will engage with partner universities and UK Government, with possibilities for publication and government-sponsored research work.

Applicants should have a PhD (completed or submitted) with expertise in computer science, AI or machine learning, and be willing to pursue national security clearance (eSC/eDV).

Qualifications

• Completed or submitted PhD in computer science, AI, machine learning, or related field.
• Ability to develop a research proposal addressing human-AI collaboration.
• Willingness to obtain national security clearance at Enhanced Security Clearance (eSC) level.

Responsabilités

• Publish research in relevant academic journals as part of the fellowship.
• Collaborate with colleagues from partner universities and UK Government to align with priorities and security considerations.
• Work across universities in Manchester and be prepared to relocate to the North-West if needed.
• Participate in mentoring arrangements and contribute to government-sponsored research initiatives.
