The University of Birmingham is seeking a Research Fellow in the School of Metallurgy and Materials, based at Edgbaston, Birmingham. This fixed-term role is part of the SHREDDER project and involves developing and validating advanced shredding and separation processes for battery materials.

You will analyse data, contribute to bids, collaborate with industry partners, and publish findings while supporting further funding and commercialisation over a 36-month period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• PhD in materials recycling, battery manufacture, or related field.
• Experience with analytical characterisation techniques is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research with mentor assistance.
• Operate within area of specialization and contribute to writing bids for research funding.
• Analyse and interpret data and disseminate findings via publications and presentations.
• Collaborate with MTC and Ecobat to translate laboratory findings into industrial processes.
• Contribute to project reporting and milestones and support diversity and inclusion initiatives.
