Job summary

The University of Surrey invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term research role focused on advanced modelling and simulation of source-gated transistors (SGTs) and multimodal transistors (MMTs) on EPSRC project EP/Y000196/1. You will work under the PI to develop high-fidelity TCAD, compact, and AI-assisted models, coupling with experimental data.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Device Physics, computational or numerical modelling, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrable expertise in high-fidelity TCAD, compact modelling, or advanced numerical/AI-assisted modelling of semiconductor devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate predictive models of SGT and MMT devices using TCAD, compact and surrogate modelling, or physics-informed AI.
• Collaborate with experimental team to incorporate device physics and manufacturing effects, fit models to data and inform design.
• Produce publications and reusable models, document work, and contribute to proposals and external collaborations.
