Job summary

Console is hiring a Research Engineer to push our core agent loop from powerful to self‑improving. You will turn production traffic into better agents, evals, and specialist models, depending on enterprise data and complex context.

This role sits at the intersection of applied AI engineering and research, with responsibilities spanning tracing, offline replay, labeling workflows, prompts, and model adaptation in high‑volume tasks.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in software/AI.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to debug complex systems.
• Experience building evals for AI systems with datasets, metrics and offline replay.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve AI systems that operate in real‑world conditions.
• Systematically improve agent behavior across prompts, programs, routing, and model adaptations.
• Fine‑tune and evaluate specialist models for high‑volume tasks with production feedback.
• Collaborate across product, engineering and leadership to ship improvements quickly.
