Research Education Lead

We are seeking to appoint a Research Education Lead who will ensure the provision of high quality Research training and education across DBTH. This post is within the Research team which forms part of the Education and Research Directorate. This exciting opportunity is fixed term / secondment for 18 months with the possibility of extending.

Main duties
  • The Research Education post will provide advice, guidance and support to all staff groups on Trust Research specific training and education opportunities, promoting the benefits of study participation.
  • Lead and monitor the training needs of current and newly appointed Research staff, facilitating training sessions, workshops and signposting to available resources and services.
  • Lead on the training and education for a range of staff on specific areas of Research education including: Generalised Research awareness, Standard Operating Procedures, Research Preceptorship sessions and Principal Investigator training support.
  • Work in partnership with our Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to provide specific Research education sessions to learners on clinical placement within DBTH, including undergraduate medical students.
  • Develop and facilitate an induction programme for newly appointed Research nurses and staff within the Trust, supporting NIHR Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
  • Participate in regular networking events, working specifically with the Professor of Nursing (for health professionals) and the Chair of Surgery (medical) to maximise Research capability opportunities within the Trust.
  • Link and liaise regularly with Divisional Senior Leadership teams to ensure relevant Research information and education opportunities are being disseminated and acted upon.
  • Support the Research Clinical Lead to provide clinical oversight and capacity when required.
