Research Director (EMEA Research)
The Research Director will be the subject-matter expert for all research initiatives. It is anticipated that the role’s focus will be on our Enterprise/Corporate channel, covering research consultancy, research design including questionnaire design, analysis and reporting, and research-best practice.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing full-service research, from questionnaire writing to developing reporting specs (e.g. codeframes, tables, dashboards) and the delivery to the client, including visualization of research findings.
- Support Sales in all efforts to increase acquisition and retention among top clients. This includes participation in client meetings/ calls, assisting in positioning and selling full-service research projects, contributing to proposals.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Operations, and Advanced Analytics as the need requires. This includes communicating research objectives and study design to Product, Operations and Project Management teams, overseeing the project set up, sample design and deliverables.
- Act as the research subject-matter expert in client updates and meetings. Translate actions from these meetings and give directions to Operations and Client service teams.
- Ensure that any outsourcing of research services is done in the best interests of the client, in collaboration with cross-functional teams and with the appropriate supplier.
- Investigate data change and data quality queries and recommend corrective action where appropriate.
- Support in refinement, testing, and execution of the research best-practice. This includes working with the Client Service and Operations teams on processes and workflows to deliver a project seamlessly and successfully end-to-end.
- Be a thought leader in the streamlining of research though the identification of areas for templating/common designs, KPIs/metrics and other items and advocates with stakeholders.
- Contribute to the company’s product and service design and development initiatives, providing feedback on new products and product enhancements, supporting the success of the solutions locally.
- Senior client relationship management, point of escalation and support to more junior team. The role can include line management responsibilities.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong experience (10+ years) in designing research input, including questionnaire writing across a variety of quantitative research techniques such as U&As, Market Understanding, Brand Research, Concept/Idea and Pricing research, or equivalent
- Advanced data interrogation and analysis skills. Experience in the use of data collection or data analysis platforms or other software packages is a plus (e.g. Decipher, SPSS, Dapresy/Forsta, Infotools, Power BI).
- Advanced reporting skills, focused on designing actionable research outputs. Experience in Offline and Online reporting solutions is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills; highly motivated, self-directed and confident in advising internal teams and clients with a high level of initiative, energy & enthusiasm
- Superior organizational skills, unflagging attention to detail & demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and working with tight deadline while maintaining a strong client service orientation
- Aptitude for new technologies (e.g. data collection, data analysis, data visualization platforms, AI)
- Flexibility to adapt to different clients and projects’ needs. Ability to work in an evolving, not traditional full-service environment.
Education and Experience:
- Strong, demonstrable experience in a client facing full-service market research role on agency side. Client side experience is a plus.
- Experience in quantitative data collection, data analysis and reporting. Experience in data collection, analysis or visualization platforms and solutions,
- Highly proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SPSS a plus
- Fluent in English. A second language is advantageous (French, German or Italian)
