Job summary

King’s College London is seeking a Research Compliance Officer (Due Diligence) to support delivery of research due diligence and compliance activities. Based in London, the role coordinates third-party collaborations, collects and validates information, and maintains audit trails.

Working with the Research Security & Compliance Manager, you will ensure timely reviews, support external funder audits, and help improve processes, systems and reporting in line with UK governance and funder

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance, due diligence, audit support or risk management in higher education or similar complex orgs.
• Ability to coordinate complex administrative and assurance processes with strong record-keeping.
• Ability to apply policies and regulatory requirements consistently for decision-making.
• Strong analytical skills to collate and present information for reporting.
• High accuracy and attention to data quality and audit evidence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; build relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience supporting reporting, monitoring, audits or reviews to deadlines.
• Experience using proportionate risk-based approaches to compliance and governance.

Responsibilities

• Triage and coordinate third-party organisation requests and collaborations.
• Gather, validate information and maintain accurate records and audit trails.
• Ensure reviews progress efficiently and in line with procedures and funder requirements.
• Coordinate NHS R&D governance audit responses and actions with NHS Trust King's Health Partners.
• Support external funder audits and assurance reviews; help improve processes and reporting.
• Provide clear guidance to researchers and colleagues; escalate high-risk issues when needed.
