Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking a motivated Research Associate in Solid-State NMR Spectroscopy to join a £7m EPSRC Programme Grant across Durham, Leeds and Manchester. You will lead and collaborate on projects in crystal synthesis, characterisation and modelling, contributing to MoSS research and its pharmaceutical, agrochemical and food applications.

Qualifications

  • PhD in physical sciences or related subject.
  • Experience implementing a wide range of advanced solid-state NMR experiments.
  • Experience with multinuclear solid-state NMR spectroscopy (e.g. 1H, 2H, 13C, 15N, 17O, 19F).
  • Strong data analysis and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and collaborative research projects according to the overall needs of the research program.
  • Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research.
  • Write up research work for publication.
  • Continually update knowledge and understanding in field or specialism.
  • Translate knowledge of advances in the subject area into research activity.
